Richard Mille's RM010 carries a magnificent exposed titanium movement bearing the same name. Surprisingly, it works beneath three layers of sapphire crystal—all visible to the eye. Underneath the topmost layer, a highly complex operation occurs as "floating" Arabic numerals rest on the second disc, encircled by a carbon fiber minute track. One disc down, the date wheel's numerals are positioned. Together, they work powered by the meticulously constructed calibre. It's this access to the way the timepiece works, encapsulated in one of RM's signature tonneau or barrel shaped cases (here in titanium), that makes this watch extraordinary.
